"The first was Goldie,
(yes, she was a palomino mare). My parents
presented her to me when I was 9 years old. My dad
worked on the dams being built on the Columbia and Snake
Rivers. We moved a lot! Other than my
parents, Goldie was the one constant in my young life.
I graduated from college, married, moved to Spokane.
Goldie made that move with me.
The second great horse came years later. She gave
me goose bumps the first time I saw her and that was in
a stall. When I saw her out moving freely, my
heart raced!
She continued to amaze and excite me for the 20 years we
were together. The remarkable thing about Annie
was that she consistently passed on her "star" quality
to her babies and grand babies. Her spirit lives
on!
I hope you enjoy this tribute to Anastaziaa. It is
on going.
